Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is oldest and largest institution of higher education in the state of Chhattisgarh. It was established in 1964 and named after the first chief minister of erstwhile Madhya Pradesh. This is well known as PRSU University or RSU. The University has a vast sprawling campus, spread in 200 acres in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh. There are 30 departments in the University with various PG and UG courses including MSc, MA, MCom, Bsc, Ba, Bcom, Bca etc. About six departments have been recently added in the University to step towards advancement. PRSU has also introduced various self-financed courses in some of the important departments. More than 800 employees works in the University, providing the administrative support at different levels.
